My 3 Current Obsessions
In honor of the website that helped inspire this changeover in the blog, Kim Morgan's Sunset Gun over at http://sunsetgun.typepad.com/ I shall also detail out my 3 current obsessions:
1) Jonny Quest- 60s cartoon I rented from the library. Didn't expect what I got. Crazy adventure show drawn with the deep shadows of a comic book. Race Bannon rocks my world more so than Racer X ever could. A 12 year old Tim Matheson as the voice of Jonny Quest also makes my day as you can hear hints of Otter, his character in "Animal House" in the way he speaks. Bar none one of the best series of the 60s.
2) The Ninth Configuration- William Peter Blatty (writer of The Exorcist) makes his directorial debut in 1980 with this mystery film set in a Gothic Castle Madhouse. Most of the scenes take place between the patients as they discuss things that make less sense the more you think about it. Plus it has character actor extradonaire Stacy Keach (Escape from L.A., Titus" as a psychiatrist trying to break through to these people. Best Scene in the movie: An astronaut lands on the moon while the narrarator details out the odds of life ever existing in this universe. Camera pans back from the astronaut planting the american flag to reveal Jesus on the cross 10 feet away. This is the image featured in most of the ads if you feel like image googling it. (Jessica I'm looking at you)
3) Youtube- Greatest thing to happen to the internet since porn.
